শত শত চোখ আকাশটা দেখে, শত শত শত মানুষের দল,
যশোর রোডের দুধারে বসত বাঁশের ছাউনি কাদামাটি জল।
কাদামাটি মাখা মানুষের দল, গাদাগাদি করে আকাশটা দেখে,
আকাশে বসত মরা ইশ্বর, নালিশ জানাবে ওরা বল কাকে।
ঘরহীন ওরা ঘুম নেই চোখে, যুদ্ধে ছিন্ন ঘর বাড়ী দেশ,
মাথার ভিতরে বোমারু বিমান, এই কালোরাত কবে হবে শেষ।
শত শত মুখ হায় একাত্তর যশোর রোড যে কত কথা বলে,
এত মরা মুখ আধমরা পায়ে পূর্ব বাংলা কোলকাতা চলে।
সময় চলেছে রাজপথ ধরে যশোর রোডেতে মানুষ মিছিল,
সেপ্টেম্বর হায় একাত্তর, গরুগাড়ী কাদা রাস্তা পিছিল
লক্ষ মানুষ ভাত চেয়ে মরে, লক্ষ মানুষ শোকে ভেসে যায়,
ঘরহীন ভাসে শত শত লোক লক্ষ জননী পাগলের প্রায়।
রিফিউজি ঘরে খিদে পাওয়া শিশু, পেটগুলো সব ফুলে ফেঁপে ওঠে
এইটুকু শিশু এতবড় চোখ দিশেহারা মা কারকাছে ছোটে।
সেপ্টেম্বর হায় একাত্তর, এত এত শুধু মানুষের মুখ,
যুদ্ধ মৃত্যু তবুও স্বপ্ন ফসলের মাঠ ফেলে আসা সুখ।
কারকাছে বলি ভাতরূটি কথা, কাকে বলি করো, করো করো ত্রান,
কাকে বলি, ওগো মৃত্যু থামাও, মরে যাওয়া বুকে এনে দাও প্রান।
কাঁদো কাঁদো তুমি মানুষের দল তোমার শরীর ক্ষত দিয়ে ঢাকা,
জননীর কোলে আধপেটা শিশু একেমন বাঁচা, বেঁচে মরে থাকা।
ছোটো ছোটো তুমি মানুষের দল, তোমার ঘরেও মৃত্যুর ছায়া,
গুলিতে ছিন্ন দেহ মন মাটি, ঘর ছেড়েছোতো মাটি মিছে মায়া।
সেপ্টেম্বর হায় একাত্তর, ঘর ভেঙে গেছে যুদ্ধের ঝড়ে,
যশোর রোডের দুধারে মানুষ এত এত লোক শুধু কেনো মরে।
শত শত চোখ আকাশটা দেখে, শত শত শত শিশু মরে গেল,
যশোর রোডের যুদ্ধ ক্ষেত্রে ছেঁড়া সংসার সব এলোমেলো
কাদামাটি মাখা মানুষের দল, গাদাগাদি করে আকাশটা দেখে,
আকাশে বসত মরা ইশ্বর, নালিশ জানাবে ওরা বল কাকে।
ঘরহীন ওরা ঘুম নেই চোখে, যুদ্ধে ছিন্ন ঘর বাড়ী দেশ,
মাথার ভিতরে বোমারু বিমান, এই কালোরাত কবে হবে শেষ।
শত শত মুখ হায় একাত্তর যশোর রোড যে কত কথা বলে,
এত মরা মুখ আধমরা পায়ে পূর্ব বাংলা কোলকাতা চলে,
এত মরা মুখ আধমরা পায়ে পূর্ব বাংলা কোলকাতা চলে॥

কাজের মাঝে দিন কেটে যায়
কাজের কোলাহল
তৃষ্নাকে ছোয় ঘড়ায় তোলা জল।
নদী আমার বয় না পাশে
স্রোতের দেখা নেই,
আটকে রাখে গেরস্থালির লেই।

Lecture on Reading Passage

Reading Techniques No 1: প্রশ্নে কোন সাল, ব্যক্তি, শহর, প্রতিষ্ঠান ইত্যাদি দেওয়া থাকলে তা মূলত proper Noun হয়ে থাকে। সুতরাং এগুলোকে কী ওয়ার্ড ধরে passage এ খুঁজতে হবে এবং এভাবে উত্তর বের করা সহজ।

Reading Techniques No 2: সাধারনত বেশির ভাগ ক্ষেত্রে (তবে সব সময় নয়) যে কোন Paragraph এর প্রথম লাইন পড়েই বোঝা যাবে যে, ঐ paragraph এর Topic বা বিষয়বস্তু কি?

Tactics No 3 : যে কোন বড় বড় ইংরেজি বাক্যের অর্থ বের করার কয়েকটি কৌশল হলোঃ

1.     প্রথমে বাক্যের Main Verb টি চিহ্নিত করা।

2.      Preposition Phrase এর পরে কোন শব্দই কোন verb এর subject হতে পারে না।

3.      সাবলীল বা  fluent বাংলা করার জন্য ইংরেজি বাক্যের শেষের দিক থেকে অনুবাদ করে আসতে হবে।

4.     প্রত্যেকটা paragraph এর মূল topic বের করতে হলে প্রথম sentence Key Word অনুমান করে খুঁজে বের করতে হবে। আর পরবর্তিতে ঐ Key Word এর বিষয় নিয়ে বিস্তারিত আলোচনা করা হবে paragraph এ।

Tactics No 4: সাধারনত বেশির ভাগ ক্ষেত্রে প্রতিটি paragraph এর প্রথম sentence এর (sub/object) key word হয়। যা পরবর্তীতে topic হিসেবে আখ্যায়িত করা হয়।

 Tactics No 5:  প্রশ্নে উল্লেখিত key word টি ধরে scanning করতে হবে। scanning মানে হলো কোন নির্দিষ্ট শব্দ, phrase, সংখ্যাকে দ্রুত খোঁজা।

Tactics No 6:  কোন বক্তব্য তথ্যগত ভাবে, কিংবা common sense এর দিক দিয়ে বা বাস্তবতার দিক দিয়ে সত্য হলেও  passage এ ঐ কথার কোন উল্লেখ না থাকলে সেটি   correct  Answer হবে না। কারন প্রশ্নে যেভাবে চাওয়া হয়েছে সেভাবে Answer choose করতে হবে।

Tactics No 7:  Correct ans. টিতে সাধারণত  adjective  বা adverb হুবহু passage থেকে quote বা উদ্ধৃত করা হয় না। বরং কোন synonyms ব্যবহার করা হয়। আর synonyms ব্যবহার না করলে তা correct হওয়ার সম্ভাবনা কমে যায়।

Tactics No 8:  প্রশ্নকর্তা এমন ভাবে প্রশ্ন প্রনয়ন করে যাতে করে কঠিন শব্দের অর্থ না জেনেও keyword ধরে scan করলে সঠিক Ans. পাওয়া যায়।  কারন যে বিষয় নিয়ে রচিত হলো ঐ  বিষয় related শব্দ থাকবে যা সবাই জানে না।

Tactics No 9:  Paragraph এর headings বের করা জাতীয় প্রশ্ন পরীক্ষাতে থাকবেই। এগুলোতে অনেকেই ধরা খেয়ে যান। প্রতিটি para-এর topic বোঝার technique টি খাটালে  Heading-type প্রশ্ন solve করা অত্যন্ত সহজ হয়ে যায়। তবে 1^st sentence এর সাথে সাথে 2^nd sentence টিও পড়া দরকার। কারন এটি পড়লে আরো clear ধারণা পাওয়া যায়। 

Tactics No 10: Heading জাতীয় প্রশ্নে example হিসেবে একটি Answer দেওয়া থাকে। অনেকে answer টি না পড়ে এড়িয়ে যায়। আসলে এই ধারণাটা ভুল। বরং passage নিয়ে কোন কিছু জানা নেই,তাই example হিসেবে প্রদত্ত answer টিকে ভালোভাবে বুঝে নিলে পরবর্তীতে প্রশ্নগুলো solve করার ভীতি বের হয়ে আপনার মাঝে আত্মবিশ্বাস তৈরি হবে।

Tactics No 11: Who বা Which কে বাদ দিলে সাথের verb word টি পরিবর্তিত হয়ে -ing যুক্ত হয়ে যাবে। Example: Dhaka, which lies beside the Buriganga, is the capital city.

Tactics No 12: অনেকে প্রশ্ন পড়ার সময় keyword খোঁজার দিকে নজর দেন কিন্তু এটা সম্পূর্ন ভুল। আপনাকে আগে meaning বোঝার দিকে মনোযোগ দিতে হবে তারপর keyword.

Tips: BBA, MBA, GMAT, GRE, SAT ইত্যাদি Aptitude Test এ আপনার marks হলো Correct Answer করার জন্য, পড়ার জন্য নয়। তাই সময় ব্যায় করতে হবে প্রশ্নের উত্তর খোঁজার জন্য পুরো passage পড়ে সময় নষ্ট করার কনো দরকার নেই।

Tips: কোন passage Solve করা শুরু করার পর passage এর বিভিন্ন important মানুষের নাম, তথ্য, বস্তুর নাম প্রভৃতি key word কমপক্ষে solve চলাকালীন সময়ের জন্য মনে রাখার চেষ্টা করতেই হবে।

Tips: Assume এর পর Duty, Responsibilities, Charge প্রভৃতি ধরনের শব্দ থাকলে বোঝা যাবে যে, তখন Assume অর্থ গ্রহণ করা।

Tips: শেষ বাক্যে Thus থাকলে ঐ paragraph এর theme বা topic ঐ শেষ বাক্যে থাকার সম্ভাবনা বেশি।

Tips: Connective word দিয়ে শুরু হয় যে বাক্য সেই বাক্যে কোন না কোন প্রশ্নের উত্তর পাওয়ার সম্ভাবনা ৯০%। ]
